I enjoyed reading Bryan's story. It brought to life the side of flying I don't like to think about but is a reality. I've also lost family and friend to plane accidents. I'm glad he is doing well and I hope he continues to improve.

I really enjoyed reading this book, I don't know much about aviation and it still kept my attention.

I read this book twice. First because I come from an aviation family, and the second time because I’ve met Bryan and his wife and wanted a better understanding of the circumstances that led to the story. I understand Bryan’s passion for flying; or maybe I should say obsession. I understand the road to recovery albeit to a lesser degree. This book kept me reading to the very last page.

So, this book surprised me. Not sure exactly what I was expecting, but I ended up very pleased that I read it. Maybe I expected a blood and guts novel of clawing ones way back from death's grip.... or even a romanticized version of recovery and healing. I didn't get either one. What I ended up with was one of the more honest books that I have read in quite a while. Bryan does write about death and he does write about healing, but not in the way I have read in the past. This great book reads as something much more personal. As I read, I could almost feel the author sitting across the table from me just sharing his life. It felt like a conversation with an old friend. He talks about his childhood, his dreams, growing up in an aviation family and he talks about his life as a pilot.... and everything that implies. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good story. I enjoyed immensely and I know you will too.
